Owner and Tenant Portals - Post your feedback
Hi Supporters! We're wanting to refresh the Owner and Tenant Portals and invite you to comment below any feedback regarding this. What do you like or dislike about the current Portals? Is there additional information that you'd like to provide to your Owners and/or Tenants? All previous Portal suggestions have been noted for this project.
We are pleased to advise that new Owner and Tenant Portals are now in Development! This will be accessible on both web and Apps for Owners and Tenants. We'll let you know once this is available for EAP and general availability.

We need a disable button for Property Tree Portal once a tenant has vacated the property.

Make it customisable, option to turn off portal messaging and maintenance portal. Some agencies use different software for maintenance/communications.

Some agencies use other software for maintenance. We would like to start using the tenant portals but they would give the option for tenants to submit repairs through the portal and this is stopping us from using it.
Can we please make the portals more customisable for the agencies? E.g. turning off maintenance portal/ portal messaging. These should be optional features.

We have had a number of owners contacting us wanting pending invoices (unpaid) to show in the portal.
This would save them ringing us to determine why no available funds have been paid to them.Thank you!

Hi @Angela, we have just bought a rent roll from someone on PMe, they relied heavily on the owner portal and we've never used PTree's. I have had a bit of a fiddle in the last few weeks but I'm not confident inviting them to use it as it is. There needs to be more support for tenants and owners within the portal so that if they are archived for one property, they can gain access for the other property still and/or if they are with one agency that uses PT then transfers to another agency also using PT they can still access the portal with the new agency. I have had a lot of trouble trying to help owners and tenants when we recently transferred 100+ properties from one agency to another agency - it was very fortunate that I had full access to both agencies so I could unarchive them, get them access again for the new agency and then rearchive them. Super time consuming and tedious! Theres no reset buttons or anything we can do on our end to make this faster either.

There should be a setting to make it that all new tenants / owners are automatically sent a portal invitation when they are set up rather than manually having to do it.

I have had a few owners ask about a mobile app now, as other agents offer this with different platforms . Would be nice to offer the same

It would be great for owners with multiple properties to have the ability to view their investments in a consolidated view from their portal, instead of needing to use the drop-down for each individual property. Ideally, there was a view of each individual property and then an option to switch to a consolidated view to cater for all owner preferences.

Portal access for owners/accountants should be from the commencement of the management not from the day you allow access to the portal

I have just been on the phone with Property Tree for approx. 45 minutes trying to troubleshoot the portal tree notifications (as we were not receiving notifications) and as a result we are missing a lot of important messages. PLEASE only have one communication platform so that nothing gets missed and everything is in the one place rather than having to check 6 different places for all the different comms

The tenant portal needs to have the ability to be switched off. Why? Its actually a security risk of massive proportions to have a vacated tenant still be able t see work orders after they have vacated the house. I am currently in this situations whereas the tenants have left the house a mess, we have to put a lockbox at the house so that all our trades can enter quickly and the code for the lockbox is in the work orders. This needs to change ASAP!

So that we can limit the thousands of communications platforms available to our clients and streamline just one platform, so that nothing gets missed and everything is in the one place rather than having to check 6 different places for all the different comms.

It would be great if the maintenance section tab could be removed if we are using a third party app like B&A. Tenants still go into the portal thinking they link. Either close it off or allow the integration fully with other apps would be a beautiful thing :)
I also support removing the tenant ability to propose a new inspection date an time. We always prefer that is only done in an emergency and not on a whim as it seriously affects scheduling and time management.
Not sure if this is the place for this one but the communications are not friendly. There's too many places to search and a one place save of all comms would be nice with the ability to mark as read/complete/ongoing etc

Feedback from owners & tenants about the portals has been quite negative. They find it difficult to navigate.
Ideally would like to be able to turn on and off what they can see. Ongoing issues with tenants and next routine inspection dates, logging maintenance in portal with no integration to bricks & agent - should either feed through or have the ability to switch off.
Owners find it difficult when they have multiple properties to locate information and miss the ability to produce an interim statement as at todays date showing current month. Home screen/dashboard to icons to access information instead of dropdown box. Document category type to be visible to owners as document name is not always clear

Always have issues if a vacated tenant is now renting with our agency again and they want to use the portal. When they login they receive old ppty info not current. We should not need to unarchive and link the profiles for them to have access. Same when a LL changes their email address - it is time consuming and sometimes the issues persist and we need to create a new profile etc.

We need the portal messages to be integrated in with communications. It is too much to have this separate. It's another place to have to look!

That we can chose what can and cannot been seen and done. For us we would not want renters to change routines in the system

we need to be able to access what the owner and tenants can or can not see .
we need access to what they would see on the screen when they log in.
when an owner ask me where can i find the invoices i just make it up then email them a copy from our one drive.we also need easy access to turn on and off access to the portal to tenants and Owners
