Tenants Without a Surname
Some people have only one name (a single name) because of cultural, historical, or legal naming traditions. In these cases, the individual’s single name is their complete legal name and is correctly reflected on official identification documents such as passports and driver's licences.
The system currently requires the Family Name field to be completed before a tenancy record can be created. This creates an issue for tenants who do not have a surname, as their official identification documents do not include a family name due to their cultural naming conventions.
It would be beneficial for the system to support individuals with a single legal name by allowing tenancy records to be created without requiring a family name, or by providing an alternative method for recording names that accurately aligns with official identification documents.
This enhancement would ensure the system accurately reflect a tenant’s legal identity and comply with documentation requirements.
