Limit visitor host selection to employees onsite at the selected location
Description:
Large organisations often have employees with the same first name or full name, as well as many global roaming employees. Currently, visitors can select hosts who are not physically working at the site they are visiting, which can lead to incorrect host selection and access issues.
Although adding job titles or other profile details can help differentiate employees, there are rare scenarios where two employees may share the same name and job title at the same location. In these cases, visitors may still accidentally select the wrong host.
Problem:
Visitors may accidentally select a random employee with a similar name, including global roaming employees who are not onsite. This creates security and operational risks, especially at busy or sensitive locations.
Suggested Improvement:
Introduce controls to restrict the host list shown to visitors so that:
Only employees assigned to the selected location are visible, or
Only employees who are currently onsite can be selected as hosts, or
An optional setting to enforce host-location matching by default
Benefit:
Reduces incorrect host selection
Improves security and accuracy of visitor sign-ins
Better supports large organisations with shared names and roaming staff
