Hi Team,

We have a customer who would like to suggest an enhancement to the Contractor sign-in process, aiming for the same level of flexibility currently available to Visitors.

Current Limitation:
In the current system, Contractors must be pre-associated with an existing organization in OnLocation before they can sign in and proceed to answer any basic or custom questions. This requires either:

Adding the contractor to an existing organization, or

Creating a new organization first, then linking the contractor.

Suggested Enhancement:
The customer would like the Contractor sign-in flow to function like the Visitor flow. Specifically, they’d like contractors to be able to:
a. Enter their name
b. Enter their company name (freely typed)
c. Proceed directly to the relevant questions—without the company needing to be added in OnLocation

Reason for the Request:

This mirrors how the Visitor workflow currently operates, which they find ideal.

They work with many contractors but do not maintain an active or complete list of all contractor organizations in OnLocation.

Manually registering every contractor’s company creates unnecessary overhead and undermines efficiency.

Even just a second option in the sign-in process—separate from Visitor—if that is applicable.

Can't wait for this to be included! Hopefully it is coming very soon.

It would be amazing to have a tool within OL that allows users to create their own forms to collect the contractor info they need, and then allow customisable workflows to be assigned to the form. We do an annual review of contractor suitability and require three people to complete the form in a particular order. We're currently using Adobe Sign to manage this. Triggers could be linked to the form to send it automatically based on an event (this would be an expiry date).

Contractor Self-Registration and Induction Process.

On Visitor Sign-in, the visitor selects the type of Contractor (Truck Driver, Contractor, Supplier). MRI allows a Trigger to send the appropriate Induction Link to the visitor. The visitor selects the Organisation he represents and is Self-registered by the system. A report is immediately available for retrospective verification.
