When the "Deactivate archived employees" setting is enabled in the Deputy integration:

Employees originally imported from Deputy are automatically deactivated in OnLocation when archived in Deputy.
Employees originally created manually in OnLocation and later matched to Deputy remain active in OnLocation after being archived in Deputy.
This behavior is currently working as designed, with OnLocation treated as the source of truth for records that originated in OnLocation.
Expected Result

When a staff member is successfully matched between Deputy and OnLocation, the "Deactivate archived employees" setting should consistently deactivate the employee in OnLocation when they are archived in Deputy, regardless of where the employee record was originally created.

Feedback / Business Reason

The current behavior creates inconsistencies in employee lifecycle management and requires administrators to manually identify and deactivate archived employees that were originally created in OnLocation.

Organizations using HRIS → Deputy → OnLocation workflows expect Deputy archive actions to be the authoritative employment status update once a user is matched through the integration. Having different deactivation behavior based on the employee's original source of creation is not intuitive and increases the risk of:

Former employees remaining active in OnLocation.
Administrative overhead from manual deactivation processes.
Inconsistent access and workforce records across integrated systems.
Missed deactivations, particularly for organizations managing large employee populations.

Providing an option to extend deactivation syncing to all matched employees would improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and better align with customer expectations for automated employee lifecycle management across integrated platforms.
