Charging Tenant Invoice - Search Field - Address Format
When processing supplier invoices for payment, the system allows users to search using the property's full address (e.g. 123 Example Street, Sample NSW), making it quick and easy to locate the correct property.
However, when charging tenant invoices, the tenancy search field displays addresses in the format "Example Street (/123), Sample, NSW" rather than the standard address format. As a result, users cannot search by the full address and must instead search by the street name before manually selecting the correct tenancy.
This presents a significant risk where multiple properties exist on the same street, increasing the likelihood of selecting the incorrect tenancy and charging the wrong tenant.
It is requested that the tenancy address format be updated from:
Example Street (/123), Sample, NSW
to the standard address format:
123 Example Street, Sample NSW
This would align the tenancy search with the supplier payment search, improve usability, and significantly reduce the risk of data entry errors.
It has previously been suggested that staff search using the tenant's name instead. However, this is not a practical solution, as it would require staff to remember the names of every tenant across all managed properties. Searching by the property's full address is the industry standard, is considerably more intuitive, and provides a far more reliable method of identifying the correct tenancy.
