I think it would be quite useful to be able to manually (permanently) set the commission rate on a tenant’s invoice payment as the system currently charges the same commission rate for rent and invoices. You can currently set exceptions for commission on maintenance (eg different rates for different suppliers) but the payments from the tenants are the same for rent and invoices. Eg if your commission is set to 8% it would be nice to be able to keep the rent commission at 8% and have the ability to make the invoice commission 10%, 6%, 4%, 0% etc. You can currently change this when receipting money to a tenant during your bank reconciliation however you must remember to do it every time you get a payment from them. We have around 20 properties at the moment on different rates to their rent commission and it’s a pain having to remember all 20 property’s rates but also correct them if you forget to change them. For example, if a property is charged the wrong commission rate for tenant water payments for a year you would need to correct 12 commission charges and also their corresponding 12 GST charges. Having this feature going forward would make for much cleaner ledger transitions and also tidier property transactions and most importantly give us more flexibility when getting new business and saving the admin team time!
