Retain Cancelled Sales Data after Listing Reinstated
The current system functionality is such that when a sale is cancelled (i.e. a purchaser has pulled-out of a sale) the Purchaser Activity is changed to Purchaser-Cancelled and the Vendor-Sold Activity is changed to Vendor-Cancelled. All of the sale details remain on the Sales Voucher allowing the cancelled transaction to be viewed again at any time.
If the Listing is placed back on the market immediately, the standard process is to reinstate the same Listing ensuring all campaign details are retained on the same Listing record including any IDs for web portal loading etc.
If the property is then sold again, the Sales Voucher needs to be completed with the new sale's details - at which time, the cancelled sale details must be removed to allow the sale to be entered (if they haven't already been removed when the Listing was reinstated as a current listing). This includes the removal of the Purchaser-Cancelled Activity altogether from against the Purchaser.
A number of offices have requested for the Cancelled Sale details to be retained in the system so that the cancelled transaction can be referred to again at any time in the future.
The current Listing > Sale > Cancelled Sale > Reinstated Listing process does not allow for this as the Sales Voucher only exists once on a Listing.
It would be beneficial to however retain the Cancelled Sale record somewhere on the Listing/the Listing Timeline as to provide a complete representation of all transactions that occurred with the sale.
