With most tenancies now rolling over to periodic there should be just a check box underneath current tenancy dates or "date that tenancy changed to periodic. That means at a glance in the tenant diary you can see that the tenancy is now a periodic rather than having to trawl through emails or the diary to see if there is communication from the tenants that that is what they want to do. This would also mean that it could be possible to run a report that shows how many tenancies in the portfolio are periodic and how many are fixed terms.
